Global Director of Project Management

MentorMate is seeking a Global Director of Project Management (GDPM) to lead and direct a best-in-class team of project management professionals across the globe. Based primarily in the USA and Easten Europe today, our project management team works with a diverse set of clients and projects to deliver on time, with quality, and on budget.

The GDPM will be responsible for leading, retaining, growing, mentoring, managing and coaching a team of project managers in pursuit of best-in-class project management services. The GDPM will also be responsible for development and operationalization of best practices and standards that lead to excellence in project management service delivery.

The GDPM will partner with cross-functional teams in Account Management, Client Strategy, Delivery, Legal, Finance, and other Operations units to align the project management function with organizational strategic objectives and deliver consistently positive outcomes on technical project delivery. Reports to the Global Vice President of Operations.

Additionally, the GDPM is accountable for internal performance metrics of the Project Management team, including utilization, margin, retention, and employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Direct management, supervision, and career development of Project Management Leads & Managers
  • Determine PM assignments for all new projects or replacements when needed due to reassignment or performance issues
  • Hiring Management for the PM organization
  • Development and operationalization of best practices, policies, and standards that result in consistently positive outcomes and best in class project management service delivery
  • Development and executing tactics within the project management function in support of organizational strategic objectives
  • Managing internal performance metrics including margin, utilization, and turnover
  • Manage total PM capacity to meet annual MentorMate business objectives
  • Build strong productive relationships with internal partners across the organization
  • Work with and support efforts of the Global PMO to ensure high customer satisfaction through excellent Project Management performance
  • Work with and support efforts of the Global PMO to establish and adopt process and performance standards
  • First point of escalation for performance concerns within the project management function
  • Define and lead department OKR goals
  • Lead PM mid-year and annual performance reviews
  • Member of the MentorMate Senior Leadership Team
Minimum qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in a project management function
  • Experience with management of direct reports including hiring and performance management
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing best-in-class project management services
  • Outstanding analytical skills, including the ability to deliver reporting that informs strategic decisions
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage changing priorities
  • Excellent cross-organizational skills, including the ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior executives
  • Strong interpersonal and relational aptitude, and team-oriented
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
  • Discretion and a high level of confidentiality are required in this role
  • Excellent spoken and written English
Preferred qualifications
  • Practical experience with the entire lifecycle of software application development
  • Hands-on experience working with remote or offshore teams to deliver technology solutions
