MentorMate is seeking an experienced content writer & editor to join our digital marketing team.  In this role, you will work closely with subject matter experts to transform complex subjects into compelling web pages, blog posts, and guides. You’ll be responsible for developing content that increases brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation, as well as overseeing & editing the content created by other team members.

This position requires a high level of writing proficiency,  creativity, and the ability to use data-driven insights to guide content creation. The ideal candidate is a master storyteller with an extensive writing portfolio and experience leading other creative professionals.

Responsibilities Include
  • Marketing writing (brand voice, web, email, brochures, advertising)

  • Professional writing (white papers, educational articles)

  • Editorial planning and content calendar management

  • Oversee and edit content from other copywriters

  • Ensure all content deadlines are met

  • Enforce usage of consistent brand voice & standards across all content

  • Explore new mediums to tell stories (co-branded content initiatives, interactive content, and crowdsourced content)

  • Work with and hold accountable internal thought leaders for content initiatives

  • Conduct client interviews for case study production

  • Become an expert on trends in digital markets and key verticals (healthcare, manufacturing, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years as a writer for an agency or digitally-focused company

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Strategic Communication, Marketing or related field

  • Must be able to write a wide variety of materials quickly and accurately

  • Must be extremely well-organized, capable of handling multiple details simultaneously, and able to easily move between strategic and tactical work

  • Expert ability at sourcing, drafting and securing approvals for a wide range of content written for digital properties

  • Ability to be flexible in a fluid and dynamic environment - including dealing with changing processes and priorities

  • Self-starter who takes initiative and ownership

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience writing in a B2B environment

  • Prior experience in a Team Leadership role

  • Familiar with search engine marketing, analytics, and optimization strategies

  • Familiar with content management systems
