Spotlight: Magdalena Chervenkova, BA Lead BA Lead Magdalena Chervenkova joined MentorMate two and a half years ago and recently lead our BA team to be finalists in IIBA’s BA project of the year. BA Lead Magdalena Chervenkova joined MentorMate two and a half years ago as a BA. She came to us from a product company and didn’t really know what to expect from a service company. She immediately felt welcomed and drawn to the culture of MentorMate and eventually became a Lead on the BA team. She’s responsible for many internal initiatives within the BA team including recruitment and career growth of other BAs. But in addition to those tasks, Magi also still works on a lot of client projects as well. That’s one of the things she really enjoys about working for a services company: it’s never boring. Since she started, she’s been involved with projects involving machine learning, tracking road traffic using sensors, rehabilitation for stroke patients, and many other projects that make a real difference in the world. Magi really loves when her team gets the recognition it deserves particularly from the BA community in Bulgaria. She’s more than proud that the MentorMate BA team’s projects have two-time finalists in IIBA’s BA project of the year, ranking second and third this year. Something Magi can’t live without is her family and my friends. And speaking of her friends… If you ask them to tell you three words that best describe Magi, they’d probably say “really bad jokes.” But since they weren’t part of this Spotlight, we’ll just say “really cool jokes” instead. In Magi’s free time, she likes to try new stuff. Most recently, she’s learning how to snowboard. While it’s not going as well as she’d like, she hopes to master it soon. Magi also likes to travel a lot. Due to the pandemic this year making it difficult to travel abroad, she’s stayed local and enjoyed the beauty of Bulgaria. If you haven’t been, she strongly recommends it! Finally, Magi really loves volunteering at a local animal shelter on weekends where she walks all the dogs. The dogs love it too!
