October 26, 2018 Drone Racing At MentorMate As part of Twin Cities Startup Week, we hosted live drone racing in our Minneapolis office. There was action. There were low batteries. There were detours into the garbage can. Joel Swenson A couple weeks back, during Twin Cities Startup Week, we hosted a panel discussion about the future of sports betting post-PASPA. Our panel of experts discussed how tech startups could get in on this new endeavor and take advantage of the changing gambling laws around the country. Immediately following the panel, Hydra FPV was in the house for some live drone racing action on a custom-made course around our Minneapolis HQ. Four skilled drone pilots maneuvered their way through hoops, slalomed around cables, and even had to thread between our grand piano and giant Jenga set. As the races were ramping up, audience members bet on the winners via the Hydra FPV app. Prizes were awarded for each heat of racing, as well as one grand prize winner. There was action. There were low batteries. There were detours into the garbage can.
