Björn Stansvik Honored as Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist

Each year the EY Entrepreneur of the Year® Award recognizes executives for innovation, financial success, community involvement and personal commitment to leadership. MentorMate celebrates CEO and founder Björn Stansvik named one of 24 finalists in the Upper Midwest region.

An independent committee selected Stansvik for his accomplishment turning “a visionary idea into a successful enterprise.” MentorMate began as an education app developed for the Palm Pilot in 2001 and has since grown into the tech arm of the 1.5 billion dollar Taylor Corporation.

For Stansvik being named an EY Entrepreneur of the Year® would represent a vote of confidence from the selection committee and a reminder to continue evolving his vision.

Looking ahead to 2016, MentorMate will continue to elevate people and their businesses through technology consultation, development and design. Recently, MentorMate has been focused on improving care and patient outcomes within the digital health space. To further share mobile and digital expertise, the team has already begun preparations for MobCon U.S. — its annually anticipated tech conference scheduled for November 17-18.

For MentorMate, growth has been exponential in the past 14 years. Yet, Stansvik has maintained a culture dedicated to excellence and employee camaraderie by using every interaction as a unique chance to reinforce culture.

The EY Entrepreneur of the Year® Award now celebrates the achievements of outstanding role models in over 145 cities throughout 60 countries worldwide.

Finalists for Upper Midwest region were selected from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska. Winners will be announced June 10, 2015 at a gala awards event in Minneapolis, MN.
